Discover & become the best version of yourself

To discover what you are best at is a herculean task. I have been in this dilemma for years now. People close to me keep reminding me time and again about my talent but seldom have I tried to convert my talent into strength .

I would try everything I know rather than focusing on one skill ending up being a Jack of all trades, Master of none. But here I'm today, practicing a skill that could make me the best someday.

What made me write this article is during a metro ride, a special friend who was in deep thought about what is he best at came up to a conclusion that he does not possess any talent.  This made me wonder, how someone in his 20's could convince self of not owning a talent although well positioned in a MNC with the required skill set, earning a handsome salary.

I  realized that it's the case for most of us, that at one point in life, somehow we convince ourselves that we are not so talented to be the best.

It is of utmost importance to value self to lead your life efficiently.

So, let us start to discover who we are and what can we become.

Turning your Talents into Strengths is a 3 step process.
Firstly understand the difference between TALENT & STRENGTH

Many of us believe that Talent = Strength. But Doug Wilks, founder of StrengthsLauncher has put this straight. Talent X Investment is Strength.

Talent is naturally recurring patterns of thought, feeling or behavior that can be productively applied.

And when you invest your time to practice and develop your talent also by building your knowledge base combine to create your strengths.

The journey of turning your talent into strength is a long process, during the process you have to become a sculptor who molds and carves his statue to present before the world.

What makes each individual unique is the choices he makes and certain activities that he involves himself in.

Secondly, Don't wait and waste

Imagine the plight, if Bill gates had dropped the thought of developing Microsoft because he had other important things  to do in life.

What if Alexander Graham Bell not invented telephone because he was feeling too lazy to do so.

Do you feel it's a waste of time to hone your skills because you have better things to do or feel too lazy, or feel you are  not capable of doing it. Drop that thought right away.

If you want to shine as a star,  you must put in your sweat and blood to create your identity.

As once said by Emile Zola, the renowned french novelist
"The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without work"

And in the end Never settle for less.

Do you love writing - Start a blog
Do you love singing - Publish your songs online
Do you love cooking - Go for an audition on Master chef

When you know what you could do the best, find all ways in the world to become the best. As there is no fun in being a mediocre.

THINGS TO DO AFTER YOU READ ABOVE :
1. Discover your talent
2. Do it daily
3. Make it your strength
4. Repeat the above all through your life till you rise & shine as a star.

Have you been able to practice a skill regularly now, comment below in the comment section!
